The Australia-US free trade agreement does not extend the copyright term on live Radio and Television Broadcasts - the term remains at 50 years from creation. It should also be noted that live television and radio broadcasts made prior to the 1969 commencement of the Australian Copyright Act 1968 were not subject to copyright protection.

Thank you for the reply.

I truly wish some more old Australian shows would become available on IA. I've made IMDb pages for dozens of 1950s Aussie TV series (such as variety shows, music shows, women's programs, game shows, interview shows, etc) and over 80 Australian television one-offs of the 1950s. I've seen a few of the series via NFSA access copies, but it's a shame virtually nobody else will see them, and I hate only being able to see them in a noisy room at the Melbourne Mediatheque.
